SELECTIVE SKIN INCISION LINE TO THE EXTREMITIES

Abstract
|
|
|
The skin extensibility was measured at 4 directions of the 16 anatomical site of the living human body using the Bio-Skin Tension Meter equipped with a strain-gauge. The subjects were 10 healthy males.
The seclective skin incision line at the extremities were summarized below.
1) The skin extensibility to the direction at the extremities was classified into 3 types.
2) Type Ⅰ; The site were anterior aspect of the upper arm, posterior and medial aspect of the thigh, posterior aspect of the lower leg. The skin incision line of this type was 1 direction.
3) Type Ⅱ; The site were lateral aspect of the upper arm, medial and lateral aspect of the forearm, anterior and lateral aspect of the thigh, and medial aspect of the lower leg. The skin incision line of this type was 1 or 2 directions.
4) Type Ⅲ; The site were posterior and medial aspect of the upper arm, anterior and posterior aspect of the forearm, and anterior and lateral aspect of the lower leg. The skin incision line of this type did not show significant extensibility according to 4 directions.
